More than a shop - a destination!

Nestled amongst numerous boutiques, shops, and businesses in Historic Downtown Decatur, Alabama, the Yarn Boutique of Decatur boasts one of the largest inventory/collections of yarn in the region. Shop owner Sylvia Johnson, aka the “Crazy Yarn Lady,” (as her customers, employees and friends affectionately call her) prides herself in offering a wide variety of knitting, crocheting, and spinning supplies guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning textile artist’s taste.

A self-described “people person,” Sylvia and her staff enjoy chatting “yarn” with all the wonderful customers that walk through their doors. Now in her ninth year of ownership, she’s continuing to enjoy all the new “yarnies” discovering her shop through social media, her shop website, and word of mouth. Sylvia and her staff are excited to be offering a larger variety of in-person classes throughout the year as well as expanding to online classes via YouTube and other platforms, hopefully, later this year.

Sylvia’s constant companion, her Australian Shepherd, loves to greet all the customers (she barks a friendly hello).
